CACF Calls on Communities to Support Youth Voice in the Debate on Specialized High Schools

An Open Plea to New Yorkers

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Thursday, May 23rd, 2019

New York - In the current debate around New York City's Specialized High School admissions process, we must place the utmost value on the experiences and concerns of youth in schools. They have a right to be heard and to help shape their own education. We commend each and every young person who speaks up every day for the betterment of our schools and hope to see increasing youth participation in upcoming community forums and dialogues on the topic including tonight’s NY Senate community forum in Manhattan and the Brooklyn and Staten Island ones in the next two weeks.
